You Fool!

Luke 12:16-21

Have you noticed Jesus uses the word 'fool' a lot in the bible to describe the Pharisees? What made them fools? How about the man Jesus was referring to in the Parable of the Rich Fool? We all know the man was foolish in his deeds, but what part of his deeds are deemed foolish?

Before this devotion, I always thought he was called a fool by God because he stored up his wealth in earthly thing, instead of heavenly things. But that's only part of the reason. After this devotion, I realized he was considered a fool because his future had no God in it!

A lot of times, we can plan as much as we want, but if there's no God in it, and we're not storing up our treasures in heaven, we're walking on that wide path. Lets get back on that narrow path and revolve our future around God. Besides, at the end of the day, I don't think any of us wants to be called a fool by God!
