A Covenant With My Eyes

Job 31:1-4

I'm not a speaker. I'm horrible when it comes to public speaking, but today, God spoke and told me to do something I rarely, and can never really do properly. To speak to the TC captains. I love them all, seriously, but in all honestly, I can't speak. But this is where God comes in. He is able to use anyone to do his will. Obviously, I believe I should and could have done more, talked clearer and...well, I can think of so many things I could do that I realize now that it's done. It's done and over with, and that's what matters the most.

I suggested to talk to the female captains about boundaries and barriers; protecting themselves online and their brothers from sin. This verse is...well...exactly what I was trying to get across.

"I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl." [Job 31:1]

This verse is posted on many computers for many Christians. Obviously anything online can lead to lust. But many people believe they only sin if they commit adultery, but no, God says otherwise.

"Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” [Matthew 5:28]

I guess the message I really wanted to get across was, girls, please protect yourselves by not misrepresenting Christ, because you'll fall, and cause others to fall around you. My brothers have struggled with this, and they, although in Christ, still continue to struggle since it's everywhere. It's so unavoidable and I pray that these captains will realize being a captain isn't limited to TC. You're a captain to these kids for the rest of their lives, if you're involved that much. It pains me to see my brothers fall into sin because of something so avoidable. Don't misrepresent Christ and flaunt things only to be shown to your husband.

A look that lingers leads to lust.
