One line that hit me the most when I did this devotion was that, "Loyalty to Him [God] is an act of worship that expresses our loving gratitude for His love towards us." Being loyal to God is an act of worship! I never thought about it that way. The Pharisees did everything they could in public so they could be deemed "godly" or "very religious," but no, God wants us to worship him in private so our hearts are with him. When the Pharisees worshiped, it was for man to see, not God. If your heart isn't right with God, then God say you already received your rewards.
This holds true to me sometimes. I search my heart, wondering if I worship and serve for God, or for the approval of man. Sometimes its hard knowing the truth, but deep inside, I want to worship and serve only for God, but temptations get the best of me at times. When we do things for God, when our hearts are with him and for him only, we're loyal to him, and that is an act of worship.
Although we may have to wait for our rewards, the end result is worth it. It'll take years, decades and maybe even a century, but that time is nothing compared to the time you have with your heavenly father.

What is done in this life, will be rewarded in the next.
