In this letter, Paul was expressing his grief, but then he realized the joy he found within the Lord. Despite the fact that his fellow Jews rejected him, and Christ, he found himself to be accepted by the Gentiles. He even stated previously that he wished he could give up his own salvation for these brothers to find Christ! How much faith does that take to proclaim?!
Then Paul realized that God hasn't closed any doors for humanity, but opened them up to everyone; Jews and Gentiles. This leads to the writing of the doxology within this chapter.
"Oh, the depth of the riches, both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!" [Romans 11:33]
Sometimes we believe that God not answered our prayers is his way of punishing us, or just closing doors. But no! God not answering prayers is a way for us to realize what truly separates us from God. We can't think like God, but always know he's opening and closing doors that align with his plan!
