Fears. We all have them. They cripple us, take over our minds and swallow us in the contentment of being in control of our lives. When we live in fear, we want to be able to control what is to come, yet that is always unknown. Today, my mom went MIA. We were eating at a restaurant and she just left, running out in a hurry. We allowed her a few minutes to cool off before looking for her, but by that time, she was gone.
An hour later, we received a call, saying she bused home, but when we got home, she wasn't even there. I still have no idea where she is, but I fear that she's doing something stupid. My family situation is so confusing, I don't even know what to think. That's one of my fear. I fear not getting into university. I fear losing the closest friend I have, knowing they don't really care. I fear a lot of things.
But what does fear really tell us about ourselves? It tells us we don't trust God.
"I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears." [Psalm 34:4]
When we fear, it means we don't trust God's ultimate plan for our lives. And when we live in fear, Satan has a better chance of grabbing hold of us, telling us lies that will allow us to fall away from God. Yet God, whom is the creator of the universe is the only remedy for fear! When we place all our trust in him, he will work in our lives, protecting us with his power and provision.

Trust in the Lord is the cure for a fearful spirit.
