All Day With God

1 Thessalonians 5:12-18

When do you usually pray? Before meals? With your small group? On Sundays only? Devotions? What is prayer to you? An ask list for God? A time to spend with a friend? Praising and worshiping the Lord?

"Pray continuously." [1 Thessalonians 5:17]

This is a charge for us to pray each and every single moment of our lives. That doesn't mean that you need to randomly fall to your knees and pray in front of the entire cafeteria. Nor does it mean you must be closing your eyes every second. Nope.

It means that we bring everything to God daily; every decision and chose we make, we lift it up to God. For me, prayer is simply a heart to heart with God. Yes, he is our Father, and yes, he is God Almighty, but he is also our friend. At times, I even call him "Daddy" instead of "Heavenly Father"! Whatever happens in our lives and whatever we're doing, remind yourself that God wants to be a part of that every single day. So lets lift up everything to him and rejoice always as we know he will always pick up when we call!

True prayer is a way of life, not an emergency detour!
