Matthew 26:26-30

On July 18, 2010, 60km of the Autobahn highway in Germany was closed down for a huge festival. Within it, the festival set up an extremely long table that seated 20,000. It was estimated that about 2 million people attended the festival. The director hoped that with such a long table and huge festival, it would connect people of many different cultures, generations and nations.
"I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom." [Matthew 26:29]
Despite the fact a table seating 20,000 may seem massive, huge and extremely fun to sit at, there's an even greater table we go to. When we partake in communion, we remember Jesus' sacrifice, anticipate his return and think about the day where we sit with him at this table. He leaves us with symbols during communion to remember his death; the bread and the wine. How much more amazing is this table? Everyone who is saved will be able to sit and rejoice in the day Jesus returned to us.
Just as the director hoped to connect people of different cultures, generations and nations, so will this table, but it will be larger than 20, 000!
