Run to the Cross

Hebrews 10:28-39
.
.
.
What makes you feel safe? Some people have objects, such as a blanket, necklace or toy, while others have a safe haven, such as a room, or their bed; others find comfort in certain people such as their parents, friends, or significant others. Sure, these objects or people can make us feel safe, but can they keep us from harm? For example, if a tsunami came through your house right now, would your blanket or your boyfriend keep you from being sucked away? No. You would have to go to higher ground for physical safety. So in terms of physical safety, these things can't do much good. In terms of feeling safe, yes.

But in terms of spiritual safety, there's only one place- the cross. God told us that the wages of sin is death. When we sin, we are eternally condemned to death and to think about it, you are in the hands of God.

"It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." [Hebrews 10:31]

"Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?" [Hebrews 10:28-29]

God, who loved us so greatly, gave us a way to be with him in eternity and that was through the cross, through Jesus Christ. The cross is a place of safety so lets not ignore it. No matter what happens through your life spiritually, just remember there's the cross to run too, and it's always available and it will always bring you hope, joy and peace in your frantic life. It takes away our sins, and it was our sin on that cross. So let's not forget.

To escape sin’s curse, run to the cross.
