Hello, My Name is: Creator

Tumblr_m0qyg62tvl1qgu2wio1_500_large

Our God is a great God
Our God is an awesome God
Our God is a BIG God as well.

The seven days of creation were definitely one of the first stories we're taught in sunday school. How God made light, the heavens, the earth, the sea and sky, the plants, the animals, and finally humans. He created all this for us and for our use.

It took me a while to grasp this fully, but now in grade 12, and learning science, it really opened my mind towards our God as the creator. Biology, Physics and Chemistry, all consist of how things work, how things came to be, and it was through those lessons at school that truly helped me realize how great our God is. What i found was most interesting was being able to see how our God thought of all this.

Biology. In our stomachs, we have many gastric acids, with a low pH, making them extremely acidic. These acids are used to help breakdown the food in our bodies, but when they get into our intestines for water and nutrients to be absorbed, shouldnt the acids eat away at our intestines? Our bodies are designed that when food is digested and moves into the intestines, bicarbonate ions are released to neutralize the acids.

Chemistry. Red Shift. If we look at all the stars, they are red shifted, which means they are moving away. From this we can predict that in previous years, they were much closer than they are now. What does this mean? That means that one point in time, all these stars were much closer, making it one of the biggest evidences for the big bang theory. But if you think about it, the big bang was an explosion, which needed energy. Where did this massive energy come from? It had to be a greater force, from a greater being.

Physics. The Force of Friction is always something we've understood and learnt, that if you slide anything across a surface, it will eventually stop due to friction. Learning physics was so complex, so difficult to calculate from the coefficient of friction, to how light is polarized to watching videos on string theory. It shows how difficult and complex and how detailed life is, since physics explains why everything does what it does. Energy, forces, all these tiny details that God thought of and put together to make our world into what it is today. Isnt that just incredible?

Our God is an awesome God, he has created everything on this earth. The grass on the ground, the clouds in the sky, the plankton in the fish, your friends, your parents, and your teachers. From a science point of view, we try to understand everything, how everything works, but the truth is, we cant. If we could, we could understand God, but he is much greater and our little incompetent minds do not have the capacity to do so.

We're talking about a God that not only made earth, but the enormous universe. He wants to be your Lord, is there not a greater person to put your trust and faith in?

Job 26:7-14
7 God stretches the northern sky over empty space
and hangs the earth on nothing.
8 He wraps the rain in his thick clouds,
and the clouds don’t burst with the weight.
9 He covers the face of the moon,
shrouding it with his clouds.
10 He created the horizon when he separated the waters;
he set the boundary between day and night.
11 The foundations of heaven tremble;
they shudder at his rebuke.
12 By his power the sea grew calm.
By his skill he crushed the great sea monster.
13 His Spirit made the heavens beautiful,
and his power pierced the gliding serpent.
14 These are just the beginning of all that he does,
merely a whisper of his power.
Who, then, can comprehend the thunder of his power?”

Fire.

It was just another Friday that passed by. Waking up, eating breakfast, then off to school.
Period 1: Math. all we did was review. i sat there not knowing what to do (cuz i fnished it the night before) and then i realized BIO QUIZ NEXT PERIOD! so i studied long and hard then BEEEEPPPP

Period 2: Bio. Started off like a regular quiz day. desks separated. bags on the floor and notes are out of sight. after we finished the quiz the teacher left the class to get something from another room. then all of a sudden BEEEEEEEPPPPP!

FIRE ALARM IS OFF! It was no drill. Why would they set a drill at THIS temperature it must have been - 10 AT LEAST. Some people were in SHORTS and a T-SHIRT (for gym) and some in T-SHIRT and skinnnies. and a few lucky ones managed to go to their locker and grab their jackets.
No one knew what was going on, all we saw was a bunch of tlea-ers walking towards the field. we stood outside for a good 45 min, clueless. none of the teachers knew what was going on. After 45 min of standing outside in the cold we had to move and go to an elementary school nearby. We totally bombarded their school and we chilled in the gym and library. Once we got back inside the school (after a good hour and a bit) we had to stay in our classrooms and wait for announcements. After they announced the period schedules it was already onto fourth period. No one was at school and so i decided to skip.
AND SO that was my school day (: what an amazing and unforgettable way to end of this stressful week.

THANKFULLY no one got hurt. I realized that although we had to suffer through the coldness outside and the horrible stench of the fire (caused by a cigar) it's NOTHING compared to what Jesus had to go through. HE sacrificed himself for YOU and I. He went through pain and suffering just for YOU. His pain is NOTHING compared to standing outside for 45 min in the cold. I know it was a horrible situation but i learned to thank God for keeping us safe and sacrificing himself.
Who knows what could have happened. The fire could have hit a gas pipe which will lead to the school EXPLODING!

Through these tough times we should thank God for them. We may not like how they work out but God's got your path set and ready for you.

What Was He Thinking?!

Tumblr_lvxgchcrtu1qacmz1o1_500_large

Just thinking about it now, since i didnt know what to write, that there are so many things we do not notice, but shows our God's greatness and complexity. I think i've said this before, but the things we learn in school, when you think of it with God in mind, its actually fascinating.

Biology for example. I remember learning last year about all the different systems, and specifically the digestive system, which is amazing. I learnt that in the stomach, its extremely acidic to break down foods, but have you ever wondered why it doesnt eat away at your intestines when it enters? Its because sodium bicarbonate is released to neutralize the acids to avoid it from damaging your insides. Isnt that just mind blowing?

Take Chemistry too, i was just studying it and we're currently learning about theories, and its amazing to see how much effort, time and money we're putting into science, just trying to understand how the earth moves, why things happen, but in the end we havent explained everything yet. Specifically, we were learning about atomic spectra, which shows that each element and molecule has its own unique absorbence, and through these kinds of tests we can determine purity, its kind, and its concentration. Is it not crazy that God put that much thought into this world we live in?

Finally Physics. This one's a big one. Just learning about waves, how they bend, reflect and interfere, or how gravity works, or the theories of relativity, there's just SO MUCH to learn on this earth and its astounding to know that Our God thought of all these ideas and made it oh so wonderfully complex, but yet, it all works.

Sometimes, its frustrating to understand, and we complain about stress and work, but if you think of it in a different perspective you'll come to realize how intelligent, creative, and wonderful our Creator is. He definitely lives up to him name. Praise God!

Ya Never Know!

You never know what's going to happen to you tomorrow. Or even in 5 min.

My bio teacher asked the class if we were interested in becoming a part of research for breast cancer. At first it didn't sound like any fun until my friend turned towards me and asked me if i was interested. So i thought to myself, "
What good would this do to me?" i thought for about 5 minutes and i decided to volunteer to become one of the candidates.

After that class was over i asked myself if there would be any possible way of getting breast cancer. I was sure enough that i wouldn't. Today, as i was talking to another bio teacher (who just recovered from breast cancer) she asked me if i had any questions about it. I asked her if my grandma (who died of breast cancer) and my mother (who has the symptoms for it) would there be any possibl
e way for me to be diagnosed with it? She said there is a high risk of me getting it. (after talking about other background info of genetics and stuff) Also, my other grandma (dad's side) suffered from Glaucoma. Glaucoma is an eye disorder in which the optic nerve is damaged, permanently damaging vision in the affected eye(s) and progressing to complete blindness if untreated. My dad is diagnosed with it and there is also a high risk of it getting passed on to me. So either way when i grow up it's either glaucoma or breast cancer. 2 very serious situations that could potentially kill me.

As i walked out of the class i didn't know what to think. first thought that went through my mind was "
Why me God?" It was one of those moments. I knew it was wrong to think of that thought but it happen. I wasn't sure when i would get diagnosed, how it felt, how much it would cost for treatment, and how it would affect my family.

I soon realized that we never know what's going to happen next. God plans everything perfectly. He knows our every move. We should live life to the fullest because we never know when our last day will be.

We should be thankful for everything that he's given to us. Good or bad.

His Creation.

382666_304019662969334_301077469930220_740658_395089981_n_large

i havent read Witty's post yet, but our titles... i dont know if its the same. Anyways. Creation.

This was a realization from before, but i come to realize something different. Before, whether at camp, or with other family, i've always seen children as these cute little things, that run around, and just be cute.

But... lately, its changed completely. Whenever i see a child, 360 change. I've realized God's almighty power, love, and blessing. That this child, is his creation, that he knit, a day at a time, to create, his/her ears, eyes, eyelashes, DNA, and like Beth said earlier, learning biology is so complex and it just shows how much thought and effort he put into us.

Its kinda cool learning about bio, its like knowing what God was thinking.

Going back to children, yes, his creation, i see it and its beautiful, its amazing, and indescribable on how he put us together like that. Seeing Bradley, Ethan, Alex in service, it just strikes me everytime single time.

isnt our God amazing.

So complex.

Last night as i studied for a bio quest i realized how complex we are.

The test was on the digestive system and respiratory system.
This made me realize how much God loves us. He spent HIS time to create each and every one of us. He made our insides and out. From taking a simple breath to swallowing food. He created a system for our body to follow. He focused on each and every one of us. He made us all special. We are all unique and there is only ONE of YOU in this UNIVERSE!

He created us with many different systems. We may feel like everyone is the same but in God's eyes, we are all different. We are made in a complex way. He keeps us all on track physically and spiritually. We all have our different ways in taking on a challenge but without God nothing can be done. We have to set aside time to thank Him for everything that He has done for us. From sacrificing HIS one and only son, Jesus Christ, to creating you!

We have our own complex brains and systems but without God, we wouldn't be here.
