Sight.

Psalm 51:10-12

Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11
Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12
Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Why was the Holy Spirit so important to David? How do you think David felt about the pestering thought that he might have to get along without the Holy Spirit?

What about you? What's it like when you feel you're without God?
When God feels far away and it's been awhile since you've connected?

It's a desperate feeling. We need God's Spirit to guide us, to comfort us, to restore us, to cleanse us. Just the idea- even a fleeting though- that God's Spirit might not be with us leaves us lost and vulnerable. Even frightened.

Christ promised that the Holy Spirit would always be with us. God doesn't take the Holy Spirit from us. God restores us. Purifies us. God's Spirit is always with us.

Hello, My Name is: Alpha & Omega

Tumblr_l0y1bwc6x31qzgbxzo1_500_large

Alpha and Omega are the first and last letters of the alphabet. I think this is pretty straight forward. Our God is the beginning and the end. He is the creator, and the Lord of Lord. He was there from the very beginning.

One may ask, then who made God? Answer: No one. he was there since .. since ever. And he's there yesterday, today and tomorrow.

That fact I find is very important. Hebrews 13:8 states it.
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Our God is the same. He never changes, he will always and forever be loving us unconditionally and by our side. Always forgiving and knowing what is best for us. Forever guiding and providing for our needs. He will never leave you or forsake you. A friend who will always have your back.

Sounds too good to be true eh? I agree. Sometimes i fall short of his glory by sinning against him, and each time it boggles my mind that he still loves and cares for me. Why havent you turned away, why are you still here by my side after each and every time i've hurt and gone against you. But believe it. This is our God. The Alpha and Omega.

Morning Class,

Tumblr_lzk2b16xhs1qbcctto1_400_large

Good Morning Class,
Good Afternoon Class,
Good Evening Class,
Good Night Class.

God is constantly instructing us and teaching us what is right, what is wrong, what pleases him and what angers him. In the verse today, Psalm 25:8 it says,
Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
Instructs SINNERS. Thats you. Thats me. Thats each and everyone of us. Right now, im in a very guilty, disappointed, frustrated moment. And although it says sinners, i cant help to think that im just too sinful to be "enrolled" in this class. That i've done wrong so immensely that i dont deserve it, i dont deserve anything.

But im being reminded that we are all equal in sin. There is no sin that is greater than another and there is no amount of sin that pushes you off the "forgive-worthy" scale. God loves each of us unconditionally no matter what wrong we've done to him, and sometimes its hard to grasp and believe.

Lord, i am a sinner. I have sinned against you, each day, each week and each month. But thank you for loving me and being willing to take me in as your child to instruct me. Open my eyes, grant me wisdom and strength to fight temptation, and to overcome what the Devil tries to trick me with. You are a good and gracious God and i am unworthy to be called your child, yet you still love me.

Hello, My Name is: Provider

Tumblr_lzvpp91jpz1ql7cx6o1_500_large

Lets try something new. I have my "Clearing The Air:" series, where i tackle misunderstandings and concepts of Christianity from homosexuality, to baptism. Here's a new one i want to bring up, "Hello, My Name is:" series. This will be i guess introducing our God to you. He has so many names. Yahweh, Alpha & Omega, Lamb of God. But today i want to talk about his name: Provider.

Our God provides. He provides everything we need, but not necessarily everything we want. As GOD, the great, everlasting, almighty God, life is in his hands. He sees all, the past, the present, and the future and he knows EXACTLY what is best for you, at what time. He is above all else and works to give you the best. But it is your choice whether to receive it or not.

In times of struggle and weakness, may it be physically, financially, God will provide. I remember having my parents give me an assignment once to help improve my english, through writing. They wanted me to write a list of the things we have to bring in case of an emergency. And I write one thing. God. Because he will provide with everything we need.

This requires a LOT of trust. We need to put our full faith in our God, knowing that he knows all, and putting our entire life into his hands, knowing he will steer us in the right direction.

He's known as the Provider. Are you letting him do his job? Or are you still trying to take it upon yourself to provide for yourself?
