That Cross And That Love.

What amazing love. Every year we celebrate Good Friday. It's the time when we remember Christ's death for our sins. He took the cross and the pain for us. We were supposed to be punished but instead, he took it all.

Do you understand his great love for us? I know i don't deserve it and you don't either. He was spit at, beat, made fun of, tempted, and just about everything that hurts someone, physically and emotionally. He did all this because of his love for us. He bore all our sins just for you and I.

It's still overwhelming to me and it's just so hard to imagine the highest of high, the king of kings stepped down on earth to live a life like us, to go through all the temptations and just die for us sinners? We may sometimes go through troubles when we ignored him and yet he'd still be there for us. It's just incredible. The fact that no matter how many times we turn our heads away from him he's still there for us.

He was whipped and torn apart before his crucifiction and although he didn't do anything wrong he still was willing to take all the blame for us.

Forgiveness.

Ephesians 1:7
7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace

There's no such thing as 'too big of a sin'. God views all sins equally. From stealing to lying. I used to think that God wasn't able to forgive my sins because it was such a bad thing to do. I didn't know how to get rid of that sin. Then i realized that God forgives each and every one of us no matter what. He does it through his grace and mercy and although we don't deserve it he still offers it to us. It's up to us, whether or not we want to repent. God's love is so amazing. His love for us is so abundant that he was willing to give us his one and only son to die on the cross for our sins.

He's a very forgiving God because he cares for us and he wants us to go to Heaven to spend eternity with him.

Cross.

Jesus payed the price for our sins. We don't have to earn our way to Heaven. He's already up there waiting for us. Doing good deeds is also good but there isn't a certain amount of deeds which we need to do in order to get the 'pass' to Heaven.

He loves us the way we are. He was sacrificed for YOU and I. Unbelievable right? But it's true. He created you and i and he died and his blood was shed for you and i. Once we repent our sins are forgiven and it's basically making a promise to God that you won't ever do that sin again.

It's hard to imagine how loving God is. He accepts everyone because he's a loving and forgiving God. He reigns forever and he doesn't judge on us.

Filler Up!

Long_way_home_by_blueberry_kid_large

"Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts." (Colossians 3:16 NLT)

Let the message FILL YOUR LIVES. I found this so important. I've tried to many years and have made it my resolution to memorize Bible verses, to be constantly drowning in his love, his word, his promises, and his life.

I've struggled with doing this for a while now, i've tried to read the bible, doing devos and i think this year, it really kicked in. Doing devos here is definitely a challenge sometimes, but its worth it. We need to continuously be reminded to look and focus on the cross. Doing a devo blog with other friends for sure keeps you more accountable. And i love the end result as well, reading what i've written and what i've learnt.

Memorizing bible verses, recently i got an iPhone, and i downloaded this app, Phonto! Basically its an app filled with different fonts (i love fonts) and it allows you to add text to a photo. I took a photo of just black, so it could be my background, and lately i've been making text images, that i use as wallpapers, and i think the process really helped grind it into my mind. And sometimes on the walk to school, i try to recall all i have done, and it works! A lot better than other things.

Reading his word is so important. A heard a quote once that said "Christian books are not a replacement for the Word of God" and thats so true. Im reading "You Can Change" by Tim Chester, and its a great book, but its not the scripture. We need to focus on just that because it is assured that THE WORD is true, and is God's words, speaking to you.

Learn to indulge into his Word, keep thinking about it, and you will embody it.
