Commitment.

I'm currently on 4 sports teams at school. It takes a lot of commitment to do all these things. Staying late after school just to train, waking up early to train, and eating healthy to stay fit. I sometimes feel like I've been too committed with these sports and I'm not committed to live a Godly life.

It's hard to stay focused when other things are in the way. Tournaments, practices, and competition. Sometimes i get caught up in the hype of another tournament i feel like i just try to rely on myself. I know that i can't do it all by myself and God is the one who created me to have the ability to do this. If I'm able to stay committed to these sports then I'm able to be committed to God.

Staying committed to one thing is hard. So always start with one thing.

Hello, My Name is: Creator

Tumblr_m0qyg62tvl1qgu2wio1_500_large

Our God is a great God
Our God is an awesome God
Our God is a BIG God as well.

The seven days of creation were definitely one of the first stories we're taught in sunday school. How God made light, the heavens, the earth, the sea and sky, the plants, the animals, and finally humans. He created all this for us and for our use.

It took me a while to grasp this fully, but now in grade 12, and learning science, it really opened my mind towards our God as the creator. Biology, Physics and Chemistry, all consist of how things work, how things came to be, and it was through those lessons at school that truly helped me realize how great our God is. What i found was most interesting was being able to see how our God thought of all this.

Biology. In our stomachs, we have many gastric acids, with a low pH, making them extremely acidic. These acids are used to help breakdown the food in our bodies, but when they get into our intestines for water and nutrients to be absorbed, shouldnt the acids eat away at our intestines? Our bodies are designed that when food is digested and moves into the intestines, bicarbonate ions are released to neutralize the acids.

Chemistry. Red Shift. If we look at all the stars, they are red shifted, which means they are moving away. From this we can predict that in previous years, they were much closer than they are now. What does this mean? That means that one point in time, all these stars were much closer, making it one of the biggest evidences for the big bang theory. But if you think about it, the big bang was an explosion, which needed energy. Where did this massive energy come from? It had to be a greater force, from a greater being.

Physics. The Force of Friction is always something we've understood and learnt, that if you slide anything across a surface, it will eventually stop due to friction. Learning physics was so complex, so difficult to calculate from the coefficient of friction, to how light is polarized to watching videos on string theory. It shows how difficult and complex and how detailed life is, since physics explains why everything does what it does. Energy, forces, all these tiny details that God thought of and put together to make our world into what it is today. Isnt that just incredible?

Our God is an awesome God, he has created everything on this earth. The grass on the ground, the clouds in the sky, the plankton in the fish, your friends, your parents, and your teachers. From a science point of view, we try to understand everything, how everything works, but the truth is, we cant. If we could, we could understand God, but he is much greater and our little incompetent minds do not have the capacity to do so.

We're talking about a God that not only made earth, but the enormous universe. He wants to be your Lord, is there not a greater person to put your trust and faith in?

Job 26:7-14
7 God stretches the northern sky over empty space
and hangs the earth on nothing.
8 He wraps the rain in his thick clouds,
and the clouds don’t burst with the weight.
9 He covers the face of the moon,
shrouding it with his clouds.
10 He created the horizon when he separated the waters;
he set the boundary between day and night.
11 The foundations of heaven tremble;
they shudder at his rebuke.
12 By his power the sea grew calm.
By his skill he crushed the great sea monster.
13 His Spirit made the heavens beautiful,
and his power pierced the gliding serpent.
14 These are just the beginning of all that he does,
merely a whisper of his power.
Who, then, can comprehend the thunder of his power?”

Hello, My Name is: Alpha & Omega

Tumblr_l0y1bwc6x31qzgbxzo1_500_large

Alpha and Omega are the first and last letters of the alphabet. I think this is pretty straight forward. Our God is the beginning and the end. He is the creator, and the Lord of Lord. He was there from the very beginning.

One may ask, then who made God? Answer: No one. he was there since .. since ever. And he's there yesterday, today and tomorrow.

That fact I find is very important. Hebrews 13:8 states it.
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Our God is the same. He never changes, he will always and forever be loving us unconditionally and by our side. Always forgiving and knowing what is best for us. Forever guiding and providing for our needs. He will never leave you or forsake you. A friend who will always have your back.

Sounds too good to be true eh? I agree. Sometimes i fall short of his glory by sinning against him, and each time it boggles my mind that he still loves and cares for me. Why havent you turned away, why are you still here by my side after each and every time i've hurt and gone against you. But believe it. This is our God. The Alpha and Omega.

Art.

Romans 1:20
20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

Art. Every artist has their own opinion and creation. We may draw something and add many details to make it perfect.

God is our creator. He is our artist. He added many details to us to make us perfect. Think about a leaf. All those many lines, the texture and pattern of it make it wonderful. God made us beautiful and perfect.

Think of a sunset over a city. The breathtaking sparkle of the sun on the sea. The beauty and fierce majesty of a lion. The marvel of creation that is you.

The Sabbath.

SOOO i decided to flip through my Bible and stop at a random point then point down and see where I'm at then meditate on it.
So here it is!

Leviticus 23:23 - 25

The Festival of Trumpets
23 The LORD said to Moses, 24 “Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. On the first day of the appointed month in early autumn,[e] you are to observe a day of complete rest. It will be an official day for holy assembly, a day commemorated with loud blasts of a trumpet. 25 You must do no ordinary work on that day. Instead, you are to present special gifts to the LORD.”
We often forget that God made the 7th day (Sunday) as a day of rest. Most of us, including myself, start cramming all our tests and assignments on this day and we put our full concentration on doing work, instead of on God.

We need to remind ourselves constantly that on Sundays we have to give it all to God. He's our creator and he made us so that we can worship him. Personally, I do sometimes forget to focus on Him and i get caught up with school work and don't bother praying or anything. Once i think of it, yes, i do regret it. We never know when our last day is so we must live each day to the fullest.

The reason for the day of rest is because when God created the world he did it all in 6 days and on the 7th he rested. He took a step back and looked at his creation. We should acknowledge the fact that we are still on earth. We have to be thankful for everything that we are given.

Wind.

As I sit on my chair, in my room I calm my heart and quiet my soul.
I realized that there was something going on outside. It was the wind. I thought to myself, why is so powerful right now? How come we have to go through all this?

Then, it hit me. God, the creator of all things, is making us go through this. His strength is so abundant that some of us don't realize that what's happening around us is what God has in store for us. As i listen to the wind i realize how protected we are right now. We have a home to live in, a bed to sleep in every night. Something as simple as wind can just pick us up and throw us across town but God decides to keep us safe in our homes.

He is so powerful and almighty and we have to remember to thank Him for everything that we've gone through. Good or bad.

So complex.

Last night as i studied for a bio quest i realized how complex we are.

The test was on the digestive system and respiratory system.
This made me realize how much God loves us. He spent HIS time to create each and every one of us. He made our insides and out. From taking a simple breath to swallowing food. He created a system for our body to follow. He focused on each and every one of us. He made us all special. We are all unique and there is only ONE of YOU in this UNIVERSE!

He created us with many different systems. We may feel like everyone is the same but in God's eyes, we are all different. We are made in a complex way. He keeps us all on track physically and spiritually. We all have our different ways in taking on a challenge but without God nothing can be done. We have to set aside time to thank Him for everything that He has done for us. From sacrificing HIS one and only son, Jesus Christ, to creating you!

We have our own complex brains and systems but without God, we wouldn't be here.

Someone Bigger, Someone Better.

Tumblr_lx5u8vidbv1qh6ozxo1_500_large

Walking to school today, i realized something really important. God is on our side. Being the person i am, im never really confident about myself, and i need MUCH reassurance to feel like something's good to go.

God is on our side. And this isnt just an ordinary person. He's the CREATOR of the UNIVERSE, he's the KING of KINGS, he conquered death and defeated the devil. The list goes on and on and on. HE is the one standing with me? Thats... quite the honour. HE's got my back? HE's on MY side? What can stop me? There's nothing to be scared about, and nothing to worry about if you got the BIG GUY on your side.

Now the only concern is YOU. Are you going to put your trust in this King, this God? Or are you going to try to make it all your way and not give up?

My own personal struggle is that i dont have this full trust in God and sometimes, i feel like i dont fully understand exactly how powerful and how amazing this person i believe in is. I dont believe he's "all that great", and im sure thats one of the factors hindering me from moving forward in my faith.

I love realizing things like this.

Someone bigger. Someone better. On MY SIDE? thats mindblowing. Why me. but he chose me. and he has chosen you too. Its up to you whether or not you'll accept his offer.
